Leading with courage

Datza, General Manager for Delaware North at UBS Arena in Elmont, NY, reflects on a moment when she and other female leaders shared their perspectives in a space traditionally led by men. “We introduced a new approach to managing a high-pressure  service environment, and it was enthusiastically received,” she says, reinforcing that “leadership isn’t about gender but about contribution, courage and collaboration.” The experience affirmed her belief that women’s voices drive smarter, more resilient ways of working, and that empowerment grows through access, mentorship, and visible leadership across sports and hospitality.

Collaboration at the heart of leadership

Reflecting on her journey, Yolen, Head of HR Services and Solutions for Australia and New Zealand, says, “I have the best team I could ask for,” sharing how she feels “humbled and grateful to be surrounded by valuable and skilful individuals” whose collaborative and inclusive approach has helped overcome challenges and drive success. She also credits the mentors who “believed in me through my journey with Delaware North” and supported her growth over the years.
At the core of effective leadership is trust, something Morgan, Executive Chef at State Grill and Bar, in New York City, shares “empowering team members to take ownership and come up with their own solutions to challenges” helps everyone succeed. She explains that this mindset “creates an environment of people around you that are healthy, energized and creative,” reinforcing how autonomy fuels confidence and innovation. Morgan embodies a leadership approach that feels especially meaningful as we celebrate women who lead by empowering those around them.

A journey shaped by connection and commitment

Pam, HR Director, Parks and Resorts in the U.S., reflects on a career shaped by connection, hard work, and empathy. Having grown with the company, she’s lived and worked across four states, supported teams throughout the U.S. and Canada, and learned from remarkable people who have influenced her both professionally and personally. From proudly “championing Delaware North” to being honored with the President’s Plate during her time with Delaware North Sportservice, Pam’s journey is filled with moments that show her passion and commitment.
Becki, Sous Chef at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI, is currently in her tenth year of working for Delaware North, where she has grown through a series of roles. She began in 2016 as a Prep Cook at Target Field, quickly progressing into leadership, as a Sous Chef, and completing her training. Driven by a desire to continue learning, Becki’s career reflects how important “hard work, dedication, and attention to detail”  are for professional growth.

Supporting careers, growing together

Katie, People Operations Manager at Pride Park Stadium in Derby, U.K., reflects on a career shaped by growth, opportunity, and teamwork. Over 26 years at the stadium, she has supported hundreds of team members as they began their career in hospitality, taking pride in seeing them grow and succeed. She shares the same sentiment, saying she would “like to thank Delaware North for doing the same for me in my own career journey,” and adds how quickly time has passed being part of such a strong team. While striving to deliver the best for guests can be challenging, Katie believes the reward comes when the whole team comes together and makes it happen.
Amanda, Controller at Southland Casino in West Memphis, AR is passionate about growth and mentorship. Supported by Delaware North, she has continued to develop both personally and professionally, earning multiple degrees, received Achieving Leader of the Year, all the while mentoring others along the way. She often reminds new hires that “the sky is the limit,” encouraging them to ask for help, stay patient with their journey, and believe in themselves.

Leadership rooted in empathy and trust

Nicole, Compliance Analyst at Global Headquarters in Buffalo, NY, reflects on a powerful experience that reshaped her understanding of leadership. “True leadership is rooted in empathy,” she shares, noting that what she once perceived as gaps in leadership were, in fact, misconceptions. By creating a safe and supportive space, Nicole witnessed women open up, share authentically, and connect. For her, leadership isn’t just about guiding others, it’s about listening, learning, and building an environment where everyone can show up as their true selves.
