The Yellowstone General Stores experience

Whether you’re hiking the trails, helping a guest, or soaking in the awe-inspiring landscape, nature’s finest masterpiece is your workspace. How cool is that?

Housing

Live in a rustic shared dorm on-site with a communal bathroom and free laundry facilities nearby or take advantage of our full RV hookup area with coin-operated laundry facilities and a communal bathroom/shower house.

Schedule

Most positions work in split shifts of 32–40 hours/week each. We do our best to accommodate similar shifts and days off together for couples and friends when possible.

Location

Is adventure your middle name? We operate 11 friendly stores for guests throughout Yellowstone. With nearly 3,500 square miles of park and 1,000 miles of trails, there’s no room for boredom.

Recreation

Yellowstone Co-op Employee Recreation Program (YCERP) offers multiple sports, raft trips, guided hikes, photo contests, educational seminars, gear rental, and other fun activities for all team members in the park, either free or for a small fee.

The West Yellowstone experience

Living and working in a historic town

Location, location, location! Our three West Yellowstone hotels and cabins are all less than a mile to the nearest park entrance. Whether it’s work or play, spend your days just steps away from a world of wonder.

Housing

Live in a fully furnished, nonsmoking, shared apartment for just $65–75/week, utilities and Wi-Fi included. Each unit has a full kitchen and shared bathroom for two to four occupants, plus access to the complex’s shared coin-operated laundry facility.

Discounts

All team members receive a 50% discount on shift meals, 15% discount at The Branch Restaurant & Bar, and 30% discount on certain items in Yellowstone General Stores throughout the Park. Alcohol not included.

Recreation

Whether you enjoy hiking, fishing, and backpacking your way through the park’s wilderness or you’d rather socialize and participate in group activities, Yellowstone has plenty to keep you active and entertained.

Summer

Explore the park’s 900+ miles of scenic hiking trails, fish an abundance of premier blue-ribbon trout water, or try rafting or horseback riding. Keep an eye out for wildlife as you go.

Winter

Discover the beauty and wonder of Yellowstone by snowmobile or cross-country skis, or travel the 55 miles to Big Sky, home to some of the most diverse downhill skiing and snowboarding trails among breathtaking vistas.

The Gardiner experience

Nestled in the rugged charm of Gardiner, Montana, The Ridgeline Hotel at Yellowstone offers a front-row seat to the park’s beauty. Here, where bison roam and grizzlies rule, you’re not just working, you’re living the Yellowstone dream.

Housing

On-site housing is just $25/week, with free utilities, Wi-Fi, and satellite TV. Our recently renovated nonsmoking shared dorm rooms come fully furnished and have a miniature fridge, microwave, and TV, plus a shared laundry facility.

Recreation

Enjoy the convenience of small-town Montana living, just minutes away from the country’s first national park.

Summer

Fish the hundreds of miles of water outside Yellowstone National Park and in Paradise Valley, raft the Yellowstone River, or go horseback riding or hiking. Keep an eye out for wildlife as you go!

Winter

Discover the beauty and wonder of Montana by snowmobile or cross-country skis, or travel the 81 miles to Bridger Bowl outside Bozeman for downhill skiing or snowboarding.
