Working at Yellowstone General Stores means living and working in the heart of Yellowstone National Park. Whether you’re helping guests, hiking the trails, or exploring the incredible landscape on your days off, adventure is never far away. What employee housing is available at Yellowstone General Stores?
For $50/week, live in a rustic shared dorm on-site with a communal bathroom and free laundry facilities nearby. Full meal plans are available for dorm residents for $80/week. For RV accommodation, take advantage of our full RV hookup area for $80/week, with free laundry facilities inside the park and access to a communal bathroom/shower house at most locations.
What is the work schedule like?
Most positions work in split shifts of 32–40 hours per week. We do our best to accommodate similar shifts and days off for couples and friends when possible.
Where will I work in Yellowstone National Park?
We operate 11 Yellowstone General Stores throughout Yellowstone National Park. With nearly 3,500 square miles of park and 1,000 miles of trails to explore, there’s no shortage of adventure outside of work.
What can I do outside of work?
The Yellowstone Co-op Employee Recreation Program (YCERP) offers sports, raft trips, guided hikes, photo contests, educational seminars, gear rentals, and other activities for team members in the park, either free or for a small fee.

Our three West Yellowstone hotels and cabins are all less than a mile from the nearest entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Whether you’re working or exploring on your days off, you’ll be just steps from one of the world’s most iconic destinations.
What employee housing is available in West Yellowstone?
Live in a fully furnished, nonsmoking shared apartment for just $85/week, with utilities and Wi-Fi included. Each unit has a full kitchen and shared bathroom for two to four occupants, plus access to the complex’s shared coin-operated laundry facility.
What can I do outside of work in West Yellowstone?
Whether you enjoy hiking, fishing, and backpacking through Yellowstone National Park or prefer social and group activities, there’s plenty to keep you active and entertained throughout the year.
What is there to do in West Yellowstone during the summer?
Explore more than 900 miles of scenic hiking trails, fish premier blue-ribbon trout waters, or try rafting or horseback riding. Keep an eye out for Yellowstone’s wildlife as you go!

Discover Yellowstone National Park by snowmobile or cross-country skis, or travel 55 miles to Big Sky for downhill skiing and snowboarding surrounded by breathtaking mountain views.

On-site employee housing is $60/week, with utilities, Wi-Fi, and satellite TV included. Our recently renovated, nonsmoking shared dorm rooms come fully furnished with a mini fridge, microwave, and TV, plus access to a free shared laundry facility.

What is there to do in Gardiner during the summer?
Fish hundreds of miles of water outside Yellowstone National Park and throughout Paradise Valley, raft the Yellowstone River, or go horseback riding or hiking. Keep an eye out for wildlife as you explore!

Explore Montana by snowmobile or cross-country skis, or travel 81 miles to Bridger Bowl near Bozeman for downhill skiing and snowboarding.
